  Subcontractor with SAIC in a joint effort to support the NASA ODIN contract. Technical lead and responsible for all NASA Headquarters Unix systems and services including but not limited to domain name, mail, web, and client server services. Created extensive documentation on procedures and how services operate. Instructed junior administrators and other technical people in Unix administration and services. Provided support to the members of the Windows NT administration team and assisted the networking staff in cisco switch maintenance including assisting in the switch conversion project.
   
3/97 to 2/00, INS Inc. Systems Engineer. Subcontractor with Boeing in a joint effort to support the NASA Headquarters IR&MS contract. Responsible for the management of all NASA Headquarters' Enterprise UNIX services and servers including Usenet, DNS, document management, X.500, FTP, Web, Samba, and SQL applications server. Responsible for the UNIX servers that host these applications. Set up the Operations Web site, created to better monitor and provide statistics for the applications. Provide support to Server Operations regarding legacy Novell, NT, and LAN Manager servers.
   
  9/95 to 3/97, INS Inc. Systems Engineer. Responsible for NASA's agency-wide E-Mail issues and provide daily LAN support to various NASA's Codes. Assists in managing Server Operations as necessary. Also, provide one-on-one training to all levels of Code support personnel. Responsible for several Microsoft LAN Manager, NT (3.1, 3.5, and 3.51), and Novell 3.1x File Servers.
   
  2/95 to 9/95, INS Inc. Systems Engineer. Primary support for NASA's Office of Procurement. Backup support for The Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business. Provide support to NASA's Office of The Administrator, Office of Legal Affairs and The Office of Policy Coordination. Responsible for the operations of NASA's Office of Policy Coordination and International Relations' 110 node LAN Manager Network and support as needed for INS' 250 node Novell Network. Converted 40 users from the Wang system to the LAN. Implemented a dynamic login process. Installed a modem pool consisting of two modems and 3270 connectivity. Planned the relocation for the move to the new NASA HQ building. Assisted the customer in the evaluation of an E-Mail system. Converted the customer base to Microsoft Windows, TCP/IP and Microsoft E-Mail.

  8/90 to 12/90, PTXI. Systems Engineer. Responsible for the 3+Share Network for Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab Directors Department. Provide support for other 3+Share networks as required. Teach a second network administrator how to administrate her LAN. Assist the IBM Token Ring LAN Administrator in installing TCP/IP and general troubleshooting. Prepare cabling layouts for the two LANs. Assisted in upgrading from 1.3.1 to 1.6 3+Share. Learned UNIX and VMS to be of assistance for general support.

  9/87 to 3/90, GTSI. Senior Network Engineer. Responsible for a Wide Area Network consisting of 350 nodes located in eight states. Reworked existing setup, gathering in servers, consolidating software and access thereby moving from a space critical network to halve the amount of space being used. Programmer. Performed maintenance on the Executive Information System which is written in r:Base. Senior Technical Support Specialist. Responsible for providing support to GTSI customers for the following product categories: Novell, 3+Share, Word Perfect, Languages, Utilities and other packages as necessary.
   
  7/87 to 9/87, LAN Systems Consulting. Self Employed. Novell LAN Support for a Rockville Construction company. Sub-contracting programming support modifying the Tailored Data Accounting system to provide a specific report. Finished a LAN installation after ITS went out of business.

Responsible for providing telephone support and LAN planning and installation including cabling, backup schedules and initial software installation strategies. Worked with a Rockville Law Firm, planning their LAN, purchasing the equipment, installing the cabling, installing the server and software, training in how to Administrate the LAN.

Responsible for maintaining Basic programs related to interpreting surveying data for storage and later output to plotters. Perform some duties as an assistant to a Surveyor. Converted programs from Basic to APC MegaBasic. Converted programs to other platforms (Apple II and Tandy Computer). Provided telephone support to customers. Modified existing filing system to make shipments and inventory simpler.
