The meet was originally suggested by 'basco'. Several folks tried to make it but eventually due to other commitments and issues; basco, bikerfish1100, dm_gsxr, fungirl, and OldBob eventually arrived at the designated meeting point. More or less on time :)
I set an 8am start time for Rita and I so we'd be in Estes Park by 9:30 for the initial meet and greet. We got out at 8 but we picked an interesting route. After wandering around south of Longmont for a bit, we finally came upon Rt 66 to Lyons and made the left turn. It was 9am when we got to Lyons and made the left turn onto Rt 7 to Estes Park.
The temps were pretty reasonable. A bit warmer than I'd expected. The sky was a nice blue and the smells. Man I love riding in the fall. Wood burning, aspens turning, it's just all good.
Heading up 7 wasn't bad. There was a little slowness and Rita even passed someone :) Fortunately there weren't too many bicyclists.
We arrived at the meet at about 9:50. I found the road and spotted OldBob, bikerfish, and basco with a couple of bikes and a bike in the parking lot to the right. Must be the right place :)
We chatted for a few minutes before heading down to the station to get gas. After topping off, bikerfish led off on down to 43, Devil's Gulch Road (also known as Glen Haven Road).
