got up at 5am, bike packed and ready at 5:21. on the road at 5:26.
got to gas station at 6:15. not open but chatted with guy until it opened.
he has snowmobiles. bouy on the back. Kids take it to the lake, go out and back before it sinks. bouy
in case it does sink.
he said there are positions for 5 cops but they need 2 so only 3 available. 1 has a broken ankle so only 2.
rcmp comes on duty at 9am.
saw 2 moose!
made it to the port on time. ship was late though. got to quebec at 12:30
hauled down to red bay. somewhat bumpy road. bridge with 2x4's. cold to start in quebec, warmed up in labrador
got to road to cartwright. had 4 hours to get to cartwright. got 3 or 4 miles but couldn't get past
50kph. no way to get to cw in time. went back to red bay and got t-shirt for rita
headed back to quebec expecting to find the ferry running, 3-4 hours. turns out it's only running twice a day.
found a room for the night. have to get up at 5am
felt pretty bad after I got set up. frustrated in not being able to _go_ played with
1) buying ktm/dakar so I could go
2) fly home (airport on island)

some observations:
kilometers makes moving much more satisfying
tim horton's sucks. no credit cards and so-so food.
