It was pretty hard. The lip on the bottom of the can was preventing it from easily coming out.

Can's out, now the queen's being put in her new home. Note a couple of bees flying around on on people.

More shaking. Really the bees weren't aggressive. Just checking out the hive. There are a lot flying around though, you can just see them in the air.

After she got her hood (after getting stung) she's reassembling the hive so the bees are happy.

Almost all the bees shaken out and on the cardboard. They were really just sitting there mostly. They were a little damp from the spray and were cleaning each other off. I'd escorted one pretty damp one into the hive.

The camera focussed on the box and not the queen but that's the queen cage on the right with the two bees on the wire mesh.

After getting about half the bees into the hive she put them down. She got one sting on the back of her neck and one was stuck in her hair so she bailed briefly while the bees calmed down.

Bees Bees Bees. The lump is the sugar can with the bees all over it. The little metal tab you can see is the tab for the queen cage. She'll eat her way out with the others eating from the other direction (the plug is a mixture of powdered sugar and honey).
